Can anyone tell me where I can get back cabin and exhaust tall-pipe chimneys
without brass rings? I'm looking to get a 19th Century / steamer look (and
save on Brasso)

I've got a chimney with brass rings and I still save on Brasso. I just
don't polish it (or the mushrooms) ;-)
After a year or so, it gets a nice patena.

Or just paint the whole chimney, including the brass rings, which do help to
maintain the shape.
